This is the time of year (from Thanksgiving through Valentine’s Day) that is considered Engagement Season because so many people become engaged. Once the excitement settles down one of the first things you’ll want to consider doing – before picking a venue and shopping for a gown – is to get insurance on your ring (and later for your wedding bands). If you already have homeowner’s or renter’s insurance just let them know to extend coverage for your ring. But keep in mind that some of these policies don’t cover accidental loss (the most reason for claims) or rings valued over a certain amount so a separate policy, called a rider, might be necessary. Good luck and congratulations!
